Duane Breisch Jr, known as DJ has been a professional
firefighter over 25 years with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. In his
service he has received training and certification in swift water boat
operation and as a rescue swimmer and as a qualified fireboat operator.
DJ retired from Fairfax County Fire Station 20 and where he operated the 36' MetalCraft
fireboat Gunston Hall. He holds an NFPA Firefighter 1-2-3 and Commonwealth of
Virginia EMT certification. In addition to his career as a firefighter he
has worked at Hampton's Landing Marina in Woodbridge Virginia as marina
operations manager performing functions to include travelift operation, yard
facility maintenance and construction.
DJ holds a USCG Master 100
ton with towing and radar endorsements and operates towing and salvage vessels
for Potomac Marine. Through this experience DJ has become an instructor for the
USCG Merchant Mariner Master certification course provided through MERG. In
addition he has been involved in the Potomac River Rescue Association, river
rescue drills as an evaluator and coordinator.
